Comprehensive diagnostics at Miso Orthodontic Studio go beyond the teeth to the jaws, airway, and face. They include:
- Jaw joint (TMD) analysis
- Airway analysis
- Skeletal analysis: the position of the upper and lower jaws relative to the rest of the face
- Palatal width analysis
- Tooth position relative to the lips and nasolabial angle, for bite and esthetics

Adult MARPE
Widen the upper jaw without jaw surgery.
MARPE (mini-implant assisted rapid palatal expansion) widens the upper jaw in adults by anchoring the expander to bone rather than to teeth alone.

Is the studio open yet?
Not yet. We’re opening soon in downtown Jersey City. Join the founding waitlist and we’ll let you know as soon as we open and are ready to schedule consultations.
What happens at a first consultation?
You’ll meet Dr. Song for a conversation about your goals and concerns. He’ll take a panoramic X-ray, a full set of photos, and a low-dose CBCT scan. He’ll review your health questionnaire and explain what he finds and what your options are.
Am I too old for palate expansion?
Age is just one factor in deciding whether MARPE is right for you. Many older patients have been successfully expanded with MARPE. What matters most is your individual bone and skeletal structure, which we evaluate on your 3D scan at your consultation.
How much does orthodontic treatment cost in Jersey City?
Every treatment plan is personalized. Fees vary with the complexity of your case, and these ranges are a starting point:
- Early (Phase I) treatment: $3,500–$4,500+
- Limited treatment: $5,000–$6,500+
- Comprehensive treatment (braces or Invisalign): $6,500–$8,500+

We participate with major PPO networks, including Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, United Concordia, Delta Dental, and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Please send us your insurance details 48–72 hours before your consultation and we’ll verify your benefits.
Do you treat children?
Yes. Miso Orthodontic Studio welcomes patients of all ages, with a primary focus on adults. Treatment options include early and interceptive treatment and functional appliances for children, and comprehensive orthodontics for adolescents and adults.
