The doctor
Dr. Richard Song, DDS, MS
Orthodontist. One patient at a time, in a studio he designed around the way he wants to practise.
seated, consult room, natural light
In his words
“Ask me about teeth and I will answer. Ask me about sleep and I will talk all afternoon.”
I trained in orthodontics because it is the one specialty that changes the architecture of a face rather than decorating it. Widening a narrow palate, guiding a jaw forward, giving the tongue somewhere to rest — these change how a person breathes for the rest of their life. Straight teeth are the visible part of a quieter result.
Parents come to me asking about crooked teeth. Ten minutes later we are usually talking about why their child sleeps with their mouth open. That conversation is the whole practice.
How I practise
- I see every patient myself, at every appointment. No rotating associates, no assistant-led adjustments.
- Every consultation includes a 3D scan and, where indicated, a CBCT airway analysis before any plan is proposed.
- I quote one all-inclusive fee in writing, and I will tell you when treatment is not worth doing.
- I keep the schedule deliberately light. Six chairs, never double-booked.

Is Dr. Song a specialist orthodontist?
Yes. Dr. Richard Song holds a DDS and a Master of Science with specialty certification in orthodontics, and limits his practice to orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
Will I see Dr. Song at every visit?
Yes. Miso is a single-doctor studio by design: he places every appliance, makes every adjustment and reviews every scan personally.
What is his particular interest?
Skeletal expansion, airway development and facial growth — treating the architecture of the jaws rather than the alignment of teeth alone.
What languages are spoken at the studio?
English and Korean.

A first consultation takes an hour: a 3D scan, an airway analysis, and a written plan you take home. No pressure, no sales script.
